We welcome you
to Comfort Wigs, ETC! We are an intimate, personal boutique with
friendly, knowledgeable consultants. We look forward to meeting you.
For over 10 years, we have been dedicated to serving the needs of our
North Texas community. That commitment to service continues today.
At Comfort
Wigs, ETC, we recognize that maintaining your self-confidence and
positive self-image is extremely important to you.
While your
medical team is taking the best possible care of your health, we are
here to to help you feel good about yourself. We have long understood
that people who are experiencing hair and/or breast loss due to
chemotherapy or mastectomy need a sensitive, caring place to shop for
hair and breast prostheses.
Few people
fully understand the emotional trauma a person suffers from surgery
and the side effects of radiation and chemotherapy.
Today, women
who have undergone breast surgery have many wonderful choices of
breast forms, bras, and swimwear. You can choose products that are
comfortable, feminine, and stylish — products that resemble your own
breast in shape, size, texture, weight, and movement.
It is
important to understand that particular attention must be paid to the
bra fit, whether we customize your choice or use one of the many
lovely styles available with a pre-made pocket.
Comfort Wigs, ETC consultants will
work closely with you, ensuring that you have the natural silhouette,
softness, and security you desire. We will explain the features
of each product, so you may understand the importance of anatomically
weighted forms, layering, and contouring. Our consultants will
make sure that your questions are answered and that your selections
fit properly.
Representatives
from the leading manufacturers also visit our shop several times each
year to share new products and offer you personal fittings.
These
companies include: Amoena, ABC, Jodee, Classique, and Nearly Me.
At Comfort
Wigs, ETC, we work together to provide you with the products, fit, and
service that will help you resume your normal lifestyle and feel good
about yourself.
We bill your insurance company and
Medicare for post mastectomy products -- you do not have to pay any
cost of the products that are in the "allowed" price category.
Federal law mandates that Medicare
pays for one breast prosthesis, two if bilateral, every 24 months and
six bras every 12 months. All other insurance companies must pay the
same as Medicare for breast prostheses, but only have to pay for 2
bras per 12 months. Some policies will allow as many bras as the
physician orders.
